One of the drawbacks of Cisco Telepresence has been that the codec has been trapped in the 500/1000/1100/3000/3200 formats. This implementation frees the codec and allows the engine to be applied to other applications which require PTZ cameras, multiple camera captures, etc. The price is steep: $95,000 but if you are locked into Cisco and need flexibility for special events, auditoriums, portable applications, etc. then this appears to be the only game in town.
