Oh great. New and unique, just like EVERYONE else's product.
Their little video on the website is sad. He walks in the door and says hi to everyone onscreen. Yeah, they can't see him.
They took a step back at least five years in their product design. Why can't anyone design something new? All blue background? Codec friendly, yes. Eyesight friendly, no.

Oh, and a table that CANNOT be used logically for local only meetings. Yeah, nice work.
I'm sorry, but this is a bad effort.

Hey Cyclist,
Is the reason there's considerable "distance" between themselves - is that because they have to make up for the camera angle not being optimum at "eye level"?
I take it that's why they're not closer together?

Between the screen and participants? That's due to the camera's horizontal capture and trying to get people on screen as close to life sized as possible. It's also worth mentioning that the closer you are to the screen, the more you have to turn your head to see the other screens and eye contact gets all wonky.

Cyclist you might want to actually come see one of the t3 rooms live. The video does not do it justice.

Hmmmmm,
I don't see a problem with T3. I'm not an expert, but it appears "functional" and looks decent. At Infocomm08, there were a couple of systems that really seemed a cut above - the DVE frameless screens and the Teliris collaborative work table. Very odd that Cisco didn't have any of their TelePresence systems there at all.

I don't know. Being around large LCD and Plasma screens (and large projected images) I am clearly not enthused nor excited about yet another plasma/lcd system. Tandberg is an easy scapegoat since they just released their version of the same thing. Oh, they put cameras on top of the screen! Oh wait, so does everyone else. Unoriginal.
I'm bored with "three TV's on a cart". It's like if everyone made a Hummer H3. Sure it looks cool the first time you see it, but when everyone else makes their version of it, it's a bore.
I'm not sure I would be allowed to kick the tires of any of these systems, nor do I think that any of these companies (HP Cisco Tandberg Polycom) would want me ripping apart their product in front of them.

If there was one anywhere close to southwest Ohio, I would be game.

Pangeair in Dayton has a couple systems if my memory serves me....
Are you near there? LOL, I grew up in Parma, South side of Cleveland - spent 32 years back in O H I O!

Everyone is entitled to there opinion Cyclist. If you feel that Plasmas or LCD's are not the way to go, what kind of display would you like to see?
As for Ohio I believe we will be putting one in that area in the next few months. I'll make sure to let you know when it's there.

I'm game. I'd love to show you the System and get your feedback. TANDBERG designed t3 based upon customer feed back. And what the market feed back is out there.

I'm not saying it's not the way to go, but there are plenty of ways to "put lipstick on that pig" to paraphrase US politics.
I personally like warped projection.

Here are important thing in T3 at least of piece of paper.
It is H239, H460 compliance.<O:pBetter interop with standard h323 video systems with highest denominator rather than min denominator ( in case of CUVC it is CIF & G711 for interop. More lay out options (135 with fully loaded box) for Telepresence and for HD/SD screen.<O:pAt last but not the least more than technical points - Feel/Experience of being in same room is more important. I have not experience it yet hence no comments. But we are impressed with CISCO TP experience.
<O:pBest regards,<O:p</O:p
