On some forums I have moderated we had waves of spammers... it really annoys me how they get around the captchas...

Summertime has finally arrived and my other business is renting motorcycles so I've been very busy there.

Plus, the Forum is only 50 days old or so - we're growing, and with that growth other users will be able to help answer your questions.

Well you can stop spammers from posting on your forum by approving all posts from the admin panel before the posts are submitted on the board

I read somewhere that the action of approving posts before they're submitted and posted to the forum really held up a board - to the point it closed because it lost so many visitors not willing to wait.

We'll never do that - people can handle the spamming posts as long as they get cleaned up somewhat quickly.

It's practically not possible too. It'll demand a lot of time for an admin to see view and approve each post. You could possible place a moderator for the specified task, but then Lumpy's argument is valid that people won't like to wait that long!!!
