I visited the local (Pleasanton, CA) Tandberg Sales office a few months ago for my Technical Blog (http://yeoldetechy.blogspot.com/2008/04/tandberg-experia-telepresence.html). Here are a few shots I took while there:

What's with the dummies? Do they use them to "tune in" the video? Did you have to make an appointment, or did you just drop in?

Hey YeOldeTechy, I took the liberty of resizing the pictures and also hosting them on the forum.... Those were HUGE!

Are those microphones wireless or was there a floor saw cut just for them?

I think I answered my own question by seeing a huge cable coming out of th main unit (no threshold).

Ok, from a pure aesthetics point of view:

Table in no way matches the "cabinetry".
Conference table can only be used for telepresence (no local only meetings with that table)

I like the idea of one camera per two people. I've always liked that, but don't care for PTZ.
Looks like it would be a very simple install, which is nice.

Hi Folks,
I have recently deployed two experia in my project successfully and hope you receive queries from you guys. I was not in touch with our forum since a month just because of that project. Now, everything is ok and your queries always welcome.

Hi Lumpy,
They are working fine but I have implemented in a local LAN scenario in which our client have a direct fiber link to their branch office. But it seems it will be very difficult in a scenario over a private medium (internet) which the system need more than 8 MB bandwidth and lot of QoS should take into consideration. By the way, If the network is a MESH with enough bandwidth, i recommend this solution is one of the best.

I too agree with Lumpy as the technology is not a real telepresence. Its a high level AV integration, thats it!!.

Any more technical info.. you guys are welcome..!

I'm curious to know - what does the client think of the experience?

Thanks Syed
