I could have told everyone that. TELEPRESENCE is not for small businesses. Video conferencing is. Small businesses like mine have better places to throw $10,000+ (which doesn't even get you close to telepresence.

Integrated monitors/power/data, special cabinetry, tiered seating, life size images, are a part of telepresence and well out of the financial range of small businesses. I don't see that changing.

Maybe someone needs to come up with a better word for either the lower end or higher end of the spectrum of telepresence. It cheapens the word every time someone comes out with another videoconferencing product.

I think they have a new "marketing" tool with the word "telepresence".

Right on the podium in front of everyone, to hear one of the Big Boys at Infocomm08 say, and I quote - "HD video over IP" is their definition of Telepresence....

They've latched on lately for sure....

I think it's going to get worse for the purists
